My art on a Christmas card

Just recently received finished samples of one of my winter paintings on a Christmas card (yippee). This is the first greeting card I've had my art licensed on. For anyone who makes art it's always a thrill when someone contacts you and wants what you made for their product. Each new license seems like a validation of the art I'm creating, a sign that others are enjoying it.
The nice thing about a greeting card is that others can buy it, send it to loved ones and spread the joy.
This card is now available at goodcausegreetings.com  (everyone I dealt with there is completely wonderful, especially Cathy one of the owners).
As a bonus, a portion of sales goes towards charity for homelessness. Check it out with the link below, I'm really excited about it!!!

Birthday presents for me, teehee

Birthday presents and flowers from my fav peeps.
Spent the day with my hubby Shawn, swimming, eating, enjoying wine, relaxing.
And a wonderful day was had by me : )
This was the big 5-0. I had been obsessing over it for a while. I think anytime a milestone age occurs you mentally take stock of who you are, what you think, what your life is like and about, do you like your life, who is around you, what about your life do you want to change or to stay the same.
In the end the birthday number doesn't matter but those other things do. That's the thing about birthdays, they come around once a year. It's probably good at least once a year to evaluate your direction and give up those things that aren't working and have gratitude for those that are.

Red sky at night

Red sky at night, sailors delight. Mother nature really did it up right tonight here in port. When the clouds come in off the lake and the setting sun hits it just right, it's like magic in the sky

Sunny day in Port Stanley

Sunny day in Port Stanley at the harbor, lake Erie. We ate ice cream and walked the town like tourists. So nice living here, like a non-stop vacation. The hardest part is finding the time, but the weather is so beautiful it's hard to stay inside.

Jaws

The view of the harbor from our bedroom window. Somehow feels like bad feng shui to have 'jaws' coming to get us.

Winter at Mackies

Winter at Mackies on the beach, Port Stanley on lake Erie.
Like the song says "Nobody on the beach, feel it in the air, summer's out of reach" .
I took a quick drive past on my way home just to see what happening at the beach..nothing yet. www.CathyHorvath.com

Our decor

Working on the decor in our new digs, a.k.a where should we put all our stuff so it looks good.
This look will probably only last for a couple weeks before I get the itch to change the art around lol.

New snow on kettle creek, Port Stanley. This is the wonderful view from our front door as the geese wait out the flurries. The big chunky flakes certainly puts you in the Christmas mood. We haven't lived here long but I already love it!!! You can't beat the views.
